DELAVAN - Willy Johanna (van Muiswinkel) Jeninga, of Delavan, WI passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Lakeland Health Care Center Nursing Home in Elkhorn. Willy was born on February 25, 1925 in Bodegraven, the Netherlands, to Willem and Hermina (Timmer) van Muiswinkel. After World War II, she immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where she met and married her husband George (Geugjen) Jeninga. In 1961, they emigrated from Canada to the United States settling in Delavan. She kept the books for the business of her husband and brother-in-law, Jeninga Bros. Wire Products, while raising five children. Throughout her life, one of her great joys was spending time with her fun-loving sister, Marian, and when together they were never short of laughter. In later years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren who still count “Oma’s Rice” and “Oma’s Casserole” among their favorite meals and remember the plates and plates of Poffertjes she made as the best birthday treats ever. She had a flare for knitting, and her children and grandchildren cherish the amazing sweaters and socks that she lovingly made for each of them.
Willy will be missed every day by her children, John (Sara) Jeninga, William Jeninga, George (Heather) Jeninga, Henriette (Todd) Andrus, and Ken (Amy) Jeninga; and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Willy was preceded in death by her husband and five siblings and their spouses, Kees (Ida), Gerda, Gerrit, Nora, and Marian (Piet Vanderwerff).
