DELAVAN - Daniel Joseph Palma, proudly of Chicago Illinois and Delavan Wisconsin, was unexpectedly called to his Lords side on December 25th, 2024 at 70 years old. One week shy of his 71st birthday. Danny was a true family man. Although his health kept him from doing many things he loved, he always managed to make sure to visit his children and grandchildren, brothers, and his close cousins, the Swifts. Spending time with his family was what he loved the most. Daniels silly, uplifting energy left a mark on all of those who had the pleasure of speaking to him. Danny worked for many years as an iron worker in Chicago and then went on to start a business with his lifelong best friend Daniel “Funk” Funkhouser. They traveled the country putting up steel buildings, making countless memories, and leaving his Palma stamp on America. He always stayed true to his Chicago roots, and loved the Chicago Bears, even when they weren’t up to his par.
Danny was unapologetically himself, and he lived life his way, with no regrets. He was a man you would want on your side through any situation, and feared nothing. He loved to walk down memory lane, sharing stories from his past. Including many dear memories of his Belmont Bus buddies. He loved animals of all kinds, his Harley’s, his Chevelles, and he always knew how to lighten the mood. No matter what he was going through, he always made time to call his family who he loved the most. We will forever cherish his many hour long phone calls, which occurred at all hours of the night, and goofy voicemails. To know Danny, was to love him unconditionally.
He will be greatly missed by many, and most can agree, a small part of them went with him when he left this earth. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Father; Calvin Thomas Palma Sr, Mother; Rose Lorraine Palma (Thielenhouse), as well as his late wife, Anita Gail Palma. He is celebrated in life by his daughters, Danielle Marie Palma, Christina Michelle Palma, & his only son, Devin Joseph Palma. His grandchildren, Anthony, Natalya, Angelina, Kaden, Julian, Dominic, great grandson, Dmitri, his brother Donald, and his wife Cathy, their children, Melissa, Donnie Jr, Kyle, Megan, his brother Calvin Jr “Tom”, his children, Tammy, Calvin III “Tommy”, Tracy, and all of his beloved nieces and nephews. He is also celebrated by his girlfriend of 13 years Jody Staten, and her children, Sergio, Shellie, Genevieve, Jody, Cortney, and grandchildren, Peyton, and Rizo.
His loving nature, kindness, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
