DELAVAN - Julia Katherine Cvicker, age 25, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Janesville. She was born in Elkhorn, WI on January 4, 2000 to Michelle Salter and Stephen Cvicker. She graduated early from Big Foot High School, while achieving her CNA certification at Gateway Technical College. She immediately began her journey caring for the elderly. Seeing the underwhelming care available in facilities, Julia knew she could make a difference. She started Guiding Hands Living Support Services, caring for seniors and hospice patients, while advocating for military veterans to receive all of the benefits they are entitled to.
Julia was an incredibly devoted mother who deeply enjoyed spending time with her children. Her beautiful smile would light up anyone’s day. She was incredibly kind, loving, caring, and had a deep affection for animals and the outdoors. Julia would do anything for someone in need, always putting others before herself.
She was a survivor of domestic violence and was passionate about helping other women and children in that situation. Tragically, while she and her incredibly giving boyfriend, Scott, were helping an employee leave an abusive relationship, her compassion cost her her life.
Julia is survived by her two children, Maya (5) and Aiden (1); her brothers Zach Salter and Jeremy Cvicker; mother, Michelle Salter; father, Stephen Cvicker; her Grandmother Mary Stryjewski (Terry), Grandfather Tim Salter (Doreen), Uncle Tom Salter (Nicole), Aunts Karen Ruud (Erik) and Christi Vaughn, niece Oliva, cousins Aleska, Marcus, Hannah, her “bonus family” Heidi Schulz, Kaitlin Rosenow, the Tutt family and many other family members and friends.
Julia is preceded in death by her Grandfather Terry Stryjewski, Great Grandmother Ruth Karn and paternal grandparents Clarence and Jean Cvicker.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 30, 2025 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Celebration of Julia's Life will be held at Farmers Inn, 15 Wisconsin Street in Darien WI, from 12:30 pm to 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being set up for Julia's children, at Johnson Bank of Janesville. Details to follow soon.
