Albert Vander Veen

DELAVAN – Albert Vander Veen, age 95, of Delavan passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. He was born in Burum, Holland on July 21, 1920 to Gustave and Anna (DeVries) Vander Veen. Albert was united in marriage to Dorothy Korringa on December 30, 1949. Dorothy passed away on April 2, 2011. Albert farmed for many years in the Delavan area. He was a charter member of the Delavan Christian Reformed Church. Albert enjoyed bowling in his earlier years, restoring old John Deere tractors, and traveling with Dorothy.

Albert is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Roossien, of Grand Rapids, MI; two sons, Norm (Cheryl) Vander Veen, of Delavan, and Lyle Vander Veen, of Delavan; four grandchildren, Stephen Roossien, Breanna (Chris) Bolek and Brian and Jeff Vander Veen; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Brinley; a sister, Bernice DeWeerd, of Delavan; and many nieces and nephews.  Albert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and a son, Alan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Delavan Christian Reformed Church, 850 Oak Street in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Delavan Christian School.
