Walworth – Barbara J. Secord, age 86, of Walworth, WI in 2020; formerly of Findlay, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at home. Barbara was born in Canton, OH on March 8, 1934 to Byron and Laura (Bayless) Oman, spent her youth in Arlington OH, on her parents farm near their church, Mt Zion. Enjoyed 4-H, won awards for gardening and a look alike Shirley Temple contest. Met her first husband FRED BARRETT at 4-H camp, married in 1952, lived in Kenton, OH. Many friends through farm neighbors, Grange and Farm Bureau. Moved to Jenera, OH , next to grain elevator, worked at RCA in Findlay,a few yrs, then on to Mason, Michigan. Several years there as 4-H Foods leader, Bus driver, FarmHouse restaurant owner, and Food service manager at 2 MSU fraternity/sorority houses. After moving to Findlay , OH to care for her mother, Barb worked at Marathon OIl company in Food service 15 yr until she retired at age 75. Barbara and her 2nd husband built her dream log house by Stone Creek, something she had longed for since childhood days of playing by the creek in her parents woods by Arlington, OH. Barbara enjoyed cooking & caring for her family and friends. Barb appreciated her dear friends from 4-H work; Phyllis Kingman & their memories of trips to the UP, fireworks parties; Laurie Nolfo like a daughter, neighbors like Mike & Cheryl, Dean& Joyce, and Dee
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Bernie) Kruizenga of Walworth, WI; grandchildren, William Harley(wife Katie) Barrett of Phoenix Az, Aprylle (Sloggett) Avo Magar, their 4 children of Ann Arbor, MI; Brandon (Gretchen) Kruizenga of West Palm Beach FLA, Natalie Sloggett of Ann Arbor, MI ; Brent Kruizenga of Walworth, WI, Trent Sloggett of East Lansing,MI, son-in-law Todd(Jocelynn) Sloggett of Sanford, MI, niece Pam Oman of Findlay OH, sister-in-law Erica Oman of Findlay, OH; step children Karen Secord of Carey; Andy (Kim) Secord, Findlay, OH; Mindy Secord and Deb Secord of Carey, & their families
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred Barrett, 2nd husband Ramon Secord, Son, Barry Barrett, Daughter, Beverly (Barrett) Sloggett, brother Burnell John.
