Barbara Lawrence

Barb Lawrence born Oct. 7, 1935 to George and Ferris (Cook) Wright, passed away peacefully Feb. 25, 2025 at Hearthstone Memory Care facility in Whitewater, Wi.

Barb was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. After graduating,  she moved to Minneapolis for a short time. When she returned to Eau Claire, she married Robert "Bob" Lawrence on July 21, 1956. Bob was a SSGT in the USAF, which allowed them to live abroad and several stations in the states.

They had 2 daughters, Brenda and Cyndi.

Barb was an inhome childcare provider and through the years, helped with raising many children. She also worked with a taxidermist in Tomah and a bakery in Richland Center.

After his retirement, Bob and Barb opened a restaurant in Richland Center, "3 B's and C" from 1975-1985. Barb handmade all the pies everyday and on Wednesdays, she handmade noodles for the Thursday beef tips and noodles popular special.

Bob passed away Aug 26, 1987. Shortly after, Barb moved back to Eau Claire with her sister and brother in law, Ginger and Clem Bluem. She worked in the Dietary Department for 14 years at Clairmont Nursing facility

July of 1989, at 54 years old, Barb got her first driver's license.  You couldn't hold her down after that!

At 74, Barb got her first and only tattoo...a star with the number 9 in the center to represent her family members.

Aug. 2021, Barb moved to Delavan with her daughter Cyndi until Nov. 2024 when she moved to Hearthstone Memory Care.

Barb enjoyed bowling, bingo, knitting, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, the Statler Bros. and country music. 

Barb is survived by her daughters, Brenda (David) Colby of Tomah, Cyndi Stolldorf of Delavan; 3 grandchildren Cheryl Stolldorf of Spokane, WA, Sarah Colby of Tomah, and Robert Colby of Tomah; and 2 great grandchildren (Robert) Jaxson and Lilly Ann; her sister Ginger Bluem and 2 brothers Tom (June) Wright and George (Brenda) Wright.

Preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents George and Ferris Wright, son in law Dale Stolldorf, grandson in law (Cheryl) Corey Crabtree, sisters Joyce Johnston, Idabelle Wright, and brothers Bob, Jim and Gerry. 

A cremation burial is being planned for the summer at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire where she will be placed to rest next to her husband, Bob.
