Delavan/ Einar E. Carlson, age 90 of Delavan, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn . He was born October 22, 1919 in Sweden , the son of Albert and Axelina (Gustafson) Carlson. He married Goldie DeLap on September 12, 1956 in Rockford, IL and she precedes him in death. He was a Car Salesman for Kunes Country Chevrolet and Cadillac in Delavan for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII.
He is survived by his cousins; Sonja (Franklin) Beach of Rockford, IL, Diane (Gary) Bertrand of Rockford, IL, Ulla Lindholm of Sweden and Lennert Carlson also of Sweden; 1 sister-in-law, Carolyn Johnson of Rockford, IL; 1 nephew, Curt (Deb) Carlson; many other cousins; also a very special friend, Marion Osenga of Racine. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Reimert.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan with Rev. Gordon Hanstad officiating with full Military Honors. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Rockford at a later date. Memorials may be made to Swedish Historic Society ( 404 S. 3rd St. , Rockford , IL ). MONROE FUNERAL HOME, Delavan, is assisting the family.
