Carol L. Tumas

LAKE GENEVA – Carol Lynn Tumas, age 79, of Lake Geneva passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Delavan Health Services. She was born in Chicago, IL on March 14, 1942 to Arthur and Dorothea (McKay) DeLance.

Carol grew up in Oak Lawn, IL and graduated from Mother McAuley High School, Chicago, IL. She married Al Tumas and they raised their children in Appleton, WI. She went back to the work force at Sigman, Schiff, Jansen, Stack & Wenning Law Firm and then to the Zoesch Law Firm before moving to Sterling, VA where she worked at United Airlines, Atlantic Coast Airlines and Independence Air until returning to WI. She then worked at JoAnne Fabrics in Appleton until she suffered a brain aneurysm in 2014. She lived her last years in Lake Geneva, WI and then at Delavan Health Services, Delavan, WI.

Hands down, her most favorite pastime was being the BEST Green Bay Packer Fan! She lived and breathed the Packers no matter where she lived or how the season went. She treasured her family and loved to see it grow, each new addition was welcomed wholeheartedly. Especially proud of her grandchildren, she loved cheering them on in any activity they participated in, she was always their biggest fan too! Carol loved to have fun and made sure the good times were had by all. Working for the airlines allowed her to travel to places she had only dreamed of going. That was a perk she especially loved and took full advantage of as often as possible. The annual Packer Cruises became her must do adventure every year. She loved crocheting and made many afghans for those she loved dearly. The year before her aneurysm she decided to get fit and joined a group of ladies who helped transform her, inside and out. This was among her proudest of accomplishments. She loved wholeheartedly and truly cared for her friends and those she met along the way. She was a one of a kind people person who would literally give the shirt off her back to those in need. Even as her health deteriorated, her bright smile, sense of humor and friendly face rarely wavered. She brought so much laughter and love to all and will be missed dearly!

We’d like to thank the people who continued to remember her even though she was no longer in your daily life. So many cards and messages were always appreciated by her! Words are not enough to say how thankful and grateful we are for the loving care she received at Delavan Health Services and from St. Croix Hospice. These people are truly angels among us.
