JOLIET, IL – David H. Surgnier, age 73, of Joliet passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Amita Health Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. He was born in Oklahoma on February 8, 1949 to “Red” and Florida Belle (Hair) Surgnier. David worked for many years as a Petroleum Lead Engineer and Environmental Engineer. He was involved with early drilling in Prudhoe Bay, AK, offshore Gulf Coast, and worldwide.
David is survived by his special friend, Lorraine LaFreniere; two children, Nic (Taryan Blanton-Surgnier), of Portland, OR and Angela Surgnier, of Broken Arrow, OK; three grandchildren, Chance, Moira, and Ainsley; and many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery.
