ELKHORN – Dean M. August Sr., age 87, of Elkhorn passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at home. He was born on May 2, 1937 in Elkhorn to Willis and Olga (Johnson) August. Dean owned and operated the family farm in Elkhorn and milked cows for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed going to his cabin in Iron County, hunting, fishing, and loved his American Brown Water Spaniels, Reba and Ellie. Dean was a member of the NRA and former member of the Harvard Moose Lodge.
Dean is survived by his two daughters, Audrey (Cary) Katzenberger, of Elkhorn, and Connie (Michael) August-Iglehart, of North Dakota; two sons, Clint August, of South Beloit, and Dean August Jr., of Leaf River, IL; stepson, Mike Forsythe; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Josh, Jamie, Brian, Wyatt, Wayde, Georgina, and Julianne; and eight great grandchildren.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Doug Forsythe; and two sisters, Joanne and Karen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Millard Cemetery.
