Donald Henry Wendorf

 

 

 

 

 

Donald H. Wendorf, age 81 of Delavan, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Ridgestone Village in Delavan, WI.  He was born on January 17, 1932 in Delavan, the son of Emil and Clara (Smith) Wendorf.  Don graduated in 1950 from Delavan High School and was united in marriage to Nancy Ingersoll on June 6, 1952 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan.  He was employed at Borg Products prior to serving four years in the U.S. Air Force and spent a year in Korea.  After his service in the Air Force, Don worked as a city mail carrier and then as a rural carrier in Delavan for 33 years.  He was a very active member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Don is survived by his wife, Nancy, three sons; Rory of Delavan, Bruce (Gina Dilly) of Onalaska, and Mark (Deanna) of Delavan, grandchildren, Jeff (Allie) of Indianapolis and Kelly of Onalaska, and one step-grandson, Patrick Cleveland (Jessica Hamlin) of Darien.  He was preceded in passing by his parents, and daughter-in-law, Sue.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan WI, with Reverend Robert P. Rickman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until service time at the church.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or VNA Hospice.  MONROE FUNERAL HOME, in Delavan, WI, is assisting the family.
