Dorothy Boersma, age 83 of Delavan, WI, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. She was born on February 20, 1930 in the Netherlands, the daughter of Tiete and Doetje Boersma. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Delavan, WI. She loved singing in the church choir and was a member of the Calvary String and Band Chorus.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Sady (Gordon) Downing of Delavan, WI, and Marion (Tim) Scott of Delavan, WI, one son, Robert (Gloria) Botma of Kenosha, WI; six grandchildren: Renee (Jeremy) Downing-Lee of CA, Richard Downing of Delavan, WI, Belinda Scott of Delavan, WI, Brenda (Ferenc) Hausner of Williams Bay, WI, and Abigail and Andrea Botma of Kenosha; two sisters, Trees (Wybe) Dijkstra and Eke (Thys) Prins, both of The Netherlands; one sister-in-law, Gre Boersma of The Netherlands and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Richard, one daughter, Vivian, and one brother, Durk Boersma.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, WI, with Rev. Dan Roeda officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan, WI.
