Elizabeth 'Betty' Dragel, age 85 of Delavan, passed away Friday May 27, 2011 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Fitchburg Wisconsin. She was born September 17, 1925 in Colby Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Theresa (Uhlas) Swaboda. Betty married Nicholas Dragel on July 11, 1955 in Chicago Il. and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1995. She was a Hair Stylist in the Delavan area for many years owning and operating the Town and Country Beauty Salon. She was a active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan. She was also active in the Delavan Food Pantry and the Delavan Lioness Club.
Betty is survived by her daughter Kathy (Pat) Maher of Delavan; 3 granchildren, Zachary and Molly Maher and Nicholas Kilkenny. Her son-in-law Daniel Kilkenny of Delavan. 1 sister, Mary Gumz of Colby, Wi., also nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nick, her daughter Debbie, 1 sister and 1 brother.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan with Fr. Jim Shuerman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am to service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery.
