DELAVAN – Evelyn M. Knuth Kuhnke Pearson, age 99, of Delavan passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Golden Years in Walworth. She was born in Janesville on June 2, 1925 to Robert and Marie (Christiansen) Knuth. Evelyn and Harry Kuhnke were married in Dubuque, IA and after their marriage they drove back to Delavan and took up residency on a farm west of Delavan. Evelyn still resides there and their son Richard, who was born and raised on the farm, continues to farm the land. Evelyn was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church in Delavan and also a charter member of the Delavan Lioness. She was a member of the Lady Elks Club and the Delbrook Thursday Morning Golf Group.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Richard Sr. (Debbie) Kuhnke, of Delavan; two grandsons, Richard Kuhnke and Kyle (Laura) Kuhnke; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Rachel Kuhnke; and a sister-in-law, Donna Kjendlie.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her two husbands, Harry Kuhnke and Raymond Pearson; her parents; stepfather, Edwin Kjendlie Sr.; stepmother, Adeline Knuth; two brothers, Robert Knuth and Edwin Kjendlie; and sister-in-law, Roberta Knuth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will held from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Private Family Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to Golden Years in Walworth.
