Georgena Marie Davis (Georgie), 83, of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1942, in Bloomington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Virginia (Pohle) Spoerle.
Georgie graduated from Delevan-Darien High School and later studied at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, before marrying Theodore (Ted) Jansen in 1964 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and starting a family. Georgie went on to have two children with Ted – Jacqueline (Jackie) and Todd. In 1984, she married David (Dave) Davis in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. They were married for 41 wonderful years. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Georgie was also passionate about her work. First, as the manager at the Best Western in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and then as a sales associate in the fine jewelry department at JCPenney where she retired in Modesto, California, after over 20 years of service. Georgie and Dave relocated numerous times in their lives together including from Wisconsin to Modesto, California, and later to Mesa, Arizona, before returning to Wisconsin.
Over her 83 years of life, Georgie was known to friends and family as a woman of faith, a traveler, a dog lover, a jewelry connoisseur, and the life of the party. Georgie was always guided by her faith, volunteering at Grace Lutheran Church and Preschool for numerous years while living in California. Georgie helped others in many ways, such as being actively involved with AFS Intercultural Programs, where she mentored countless students. Georgie also had a love for travel, including enjoying cross-country RV travels together with Dave. Georgie was compassionate, a conversationalist, and a friend to all she met. She made community wherever she went – at church, at the RV park, when she moved across the country to a new neighborhood – and always cared deeply about those around her and gave back to others. Georgie loved spending time with friends and family whether hosting a game night, hanging out by the pool with the Eric Lane Gang, or visiting with neighbors.
Georgie was predeceased by her parents. Survivors include her husband Dave Davis; children, Jackie (Lance) Bagley and Todd (Lisa) Jansen; stepchildren Lisa Sprague and Eric Davis; grandchildren, Ashley Mills, Kenneth (Sarah) Sprague, Jordan Sprague, Lauren (Nate) Stump, Brandi Jansen, McKenzie (Matthew) Brewer, Dylan Jansen, and Kendyl Bagley; four great-grandchildren; brother, Steven (Mary) Spoerle; nephew and niece, Bret Spoerle and Rhondell (Glenn) Domilici; and many other loved ones.
A Memorial Visitation for Georgie will be planned for a later date. Please reach out to the family for further details. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Georgie’s name will be given to the American Cancer Society and Brighton Hospice.
“Death is nothing else but going home to God, the bond of love will be unbroken for all eternity.”
