Harlan Merle Armson

DELAVAN – Harlan M. Armson, age 91, of Delavan passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn.  He was born in Big Spring, WI on March 29, 1924 to Merle and Alma Neita (Learmonth) Armson.  Harlan was united in marriage to Johanna Delmore on September 1, 1948 in Janesville.  She passed away on March 13, 2012.  Harlan started his career working for the WI Dept. of Soil Conservation.  He then worked for many years as an independent insurance salesman.  Harlan loved bowling and sponsored a team at Delavan Lanes for many years and also enjoyed following the grandkids at their sporting events and theatrical productions.  He was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and usually ushered at the 7:30 Mass.

Harlan is survived by his daughter, Kerry (Jeff) Butitta, of Delavan; 2 grandsons, Hank and Vince; a sister, Mary Lou Bacon, of Branson, MO; a brother, Paul Armson, of Lewiston Township, WI; and many nieces and nephews.  Harlan is preceded in death by his wife, Johanna; his parents; two brothers, Blake and Bill; and a sister, Theo.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the church.  Burial will take place at 2:30 P.M. on Friday at Big Spring Cemetery near Wisconsin Dells.  Memorials can be directed to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.  MONROE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
