Homer W. Cary, age 90, of Darien, Wi. passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Alden Meadow Park in Clinton, Wi. He was born February 16, 1923, the son of Warren and Nettie (Larsen) Cary. Homer was united in marriage to Felicia Gunn on November 10, 1956. He was a farmer, who often could be found roaming the countryside checking the cut fields or socializing with friends at the local restaurant. Homer was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who served his country in W.W.II. Homer's three favorite things were his family, farming, and friends. Homer is survived by his loving wife, Felicia (Gunn) Cary, of Darien, Wi., his seven children Felicia Cary of Bay City, Mi., Patty (David) Rohr of Menomonee Falls, Wi., Mike (Tammy) Cary of Darien, Wi., Joe (Chris) Cary of Darien, Wi., Kathy (Bob) Shea of Janesville, Wi., Tom (Sarah) Cary of Sharon, Wi., and Barb (Jeff) Brink of Darien, Wi., his sixteen grandchildren Stacy, Justin, Alyssa, Matt, Chris, Danielle, Berisha, Keifer, Garett, Beau, Spencer, Miranda, Nick, Emma, Jake, and Josh, his one great-granchild Lilly, three of his siblings Marion Mohr of Orfordville, Wi., Mary Berland of Stockholm, Wi., and Judy Peters of Wabasha, Mn. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Nettie (Larsen) Cary, his brothers Bill, Harold "Bud", Francis, and Paul,and his sisters Phyllis, Leah, and Ardith.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Saint Stephens Catholic Church in Clinton, Wi, with Fr. Bill Connell and Monseigneur James Gunn officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of service on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the church. Burial will follow services at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Janesville, Wi. Thank you to the staff at Clinton Meadow Park Nursing Home for taking care of Homer in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VETS Roll or the Honor Flight.
