DELAVAN – James R. “Dugar” Krause, age 74, of Delavan passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at home after an extended illness in Delavan with wife and son by his side. He was born in Madison on December 27, 1946 to Raymond and Margaret (Mohwinkel) Krause. James was united in marriage to Marjorie Scheele on April 26, 1969. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. James was a member of Delavan American Legion Post 95. James worked as an ironworker in Madison and belonged to the #383 union. Most notably he worked on the UW-Madison Clinic and Columbia 2 Powerhouse in Portage. He also worked at VIP Services in Elkhorn as a supervisor on the lawn crew and rest area maintenance on I-90 until 2015 when he retired. James also enjoyed umpiring baseball, watching numerous sports events especially college and high school wrestling, and even watching golf which he never played beside miniature golf. He really enjoyed going to Anytime Fitness and worked with his trainer Jen to keep up his strength. He made many friends there. He also liked going to Deb’s Restaurant in Darien and made many friends there and enjoyed their company. He especially enjoyed the employees from Tankcraft who would come to have lunch there.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie; a son, Aaron Krause, of Delavan; a daughter, Melanie (Greg Wolf) Krause, of VA; grandchildren, Caleb and Mackenzie; and a sister, Bonnie J. Kovach, of Scottsdale, AZ; and beloved fur buddy, Wishbone.
James is preceded in death by his parents. He was beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
No Services have been planned. A Memorial Gathering will be held later this Summer. The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice.
