DELAVAN – Joanne W. Martin, age 96, of Delavan passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her home in Delavan. She was born in Birmingham, IA on November 18, 1920 to Russell and Patta (Sherman) Winslow. Joanne was united in marriage to Dr. John E. Martin, Jr. on June 30, 1945 in Madison. He passed away on June 28, 2000.
Joanne is survived by two daughters, Susan (John) Lefel, of Delavan, and Trish (Steven) Kumlander, of Delavan; three sons, John Martin, of Wisconsin Rapids, Michael (Laura) Martin, of Delavan, and Jim (Sandy) Martin, of MD; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Joanne is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Dixie Smutz; and brother-in-law, Ted Smutz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Burial will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials can be directed to Meals on Wheels or the Delavan Service League.
