Johanna Sterken, age 95 of Delavan,WI, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home in Delavan, WI. She was born in DeMotte, Indiana, on January 27, 1918. The daughter of Abraham and Anna (Boersma) Keyzer. Johanna was united in marriage on September 21, 1938 to Henry Sterken in Clinton, WI. Henry passed away in December 1997. Johanna along with her husband, moved to the Clinton and Delavan area, where they started and ran the family farm until Henry passing in 1997. She enjoyed reading, bowling, and scrabble with her girls and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons; Arthur, Wayne (Darlene), Leon "Doc" (Mary), Lester (Helen), her two daughters; Lois (Bill) McCarthy and Juanita (Rick) Coleman all of Delavan,WI., 34 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren, and her sisters; Lydia Rubendall and Pearl Potter both of Delavan, WI. Johanna was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her son, Ronald, her great-grandson, David Stratton, her great-granddaughter, Avery McCarthy, her brothers; Abraham Jr., Andrew, Corneill, George, and her sisters Anne VanderVeen and Florence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Christian Reformed Church in Delavan, WI. Rev. Dan Roeda will be officiating Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, WI.
