DELAVAN – John C. Leitzke, age 75, of Delavan passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home in Delavan. He was born in Hustisford, WI on May 21, 1941 to Earl and Dorothy (Behrens) Leitzke. John proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years as a Radioman 1st Class. He enjoyed golf, Euchre, and Cribbage. John belonged to the VFW post #10173, American Legion post #95 , Moose Lodge, Elks lodge and various other civic organizations.
John is survived by his three children, Joan "Missy" Wood of Columbus, GA, Julie Cornwall, of Easley SC, and John "Clay" Leitzke Jr. of Coeur d'Alene ID; 7 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and his three older brothers Dave, Jim, and Tom Leitzke. John is preceded in death by his parents
Services will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Memorials can be directed to VFW/American Legion.
