ELKHORN – John “Jack” A. Reed, age 79, of Elkhorn passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at home in Elkhorn. He was born on August 8, 1945 in Pasadena, CA to Howard and Dorothy (Bell) Reed. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Navy and became a certified diver. After the Navy, he worked on off shore oil rigs, the Queen Mary, and even had a part time job cleaning the hull of one of John Wayne’s boats off the coast of Catalina Island.
Jack was united in marriage to Susan Scott in Riverside, CA. Susan passed away on October 2, 2024. Jack owned and operated a warehouse and trucking company for over 35 years until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of Delbrook Golf Course and spent many weekends there golfing with friends.
Jack is survived by his two daughters, Brenda (Larry) Reader, of Delavan, and Kim (Jeff) Holub, of Janesville; four grandchildren, Mandie (Jon) Loehe, of Evansville, WI, Stacey (Travis) Hudson, of Cabot, AR, Stephanie (Alan) McMurrary, of Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, and Chad (Tracy) Holub, of Perton, CO; and eight great grandchildren, Adriana, Max, Jack, Allison, Peyton, Emilyn, Lucas, and Archer.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Susan.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
