Kenneth L. Brooks, age 82 of Delavan, Wi., passed away Saturday August 20, 2011 at Mercy-Walworth Medical Center in Lake Geneva, Wi. He was born January 31, 1929 in Walworth County, the son of Mahlon and Ethel (Dixson) Brooks. Ken owned and operated Ken's Courtesy Service in Delavan from 1955 to 1963. Then worked for the Edward Don and Company from 1964 to 1988. From 1988 to his retirement. Ken worked for Newton Manufacturing in Newton Iowa. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Delavan Legion Post 95. Ken enjoyed his coffee time with all his friends and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan.
He is survived by his daughters; Susan (Robert) Carlson of Walworth Wi. and Nancy (Kevin) Johnson of Verona Wi. His son; Gary (Mary) Brooks of Cranberry Township, Pa. His 10 grandchildren; Cameron, Lauren and Lindsay Johnson. Jennifer, Christopher, Andrew and George Carlson. Jacob, Michael and Cole Brooks. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan Wi. with Deacon Phil Kilkenny officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Lake Geneva, Wi. with Full Military Honors conducted by Delavan Legion Post 95. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, Wi. is assisting the family.
