Delavan/ John 'Jack' P. Koob, age 93 of Delavan, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Golden Years Health Care in Walworth. Jack was born November 9, 1916, and lived in Chicago until the age of 91. He grew up in Rogers Park, graduated from Sullivan High School in 1935 and attended Northwestern University. He worked for the Tingstol Company for over 40 years. He married Marion Robertson in 1944. They resided at their home in Sauganash for 55 years where they raised their children, John and Marilyn. Jack and his wife moved to Wisconsin in July of 2007 to be closer to their daughter.
Jack loved to travel and took pride that he had visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. He enjoyed living in Sauganash across from the forest preserve because it was similar to 'living in the country while being in the city.' He was a member of the Sauganash Community Church for over 55 years and also served as a Director for the Sauganash Community Association. He enjoyed bowling into his late 80's. Jack was proud of his Luxemburg/ German Heritage.
Jack is survived by his children John III, (Susanne) Koob, Marilyn Johnson, (Brian) and grandchildren, John IV, Eric and Jeffrey Koob, Timothy and Erin Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his sister Laura Dobbin.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, April 5, 2010 at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the East Delavan Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials may be made to Aurora VNA Hospice in Lake Geneva, WI , (aurorahealthcare.org) or charity of choice in lieu of flowers. Jack will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and friend.
