DELAVAN – Lawrence "Larry" J. Schultz, age 76, of Delavan passed away on Friday, January 19th, 2024 in his home. Born on July 21st, 1947, he was the first born son of Leroy and Floryann (Weissenborn) Schultz. He was a graduate of Dominican High School and served in the United States Navy. He was proud of his service and was often seen sporting a hat with the USS Ray Emblem.
After 6 years in the service, he started his own business maintaining and repairing linear accelerators. Even though Larry never attended college, he had a keen mind. He earned the respect of hospitals across the Midwest and easily conveyed technical issues with doctors and physicists alike.
Married on December 5, 1970, he adored his beautiful bride Linda Curran and provided well for his three children.
Larry has been fishing the lakes of Wisconsin since he was a child. He was brought up to understand fishing as a right of passage; and then a sacred practice. There is no where on earth he would rather be than on his boat waiting for the fish to bite. St. Germain was his happy place.
Like his father, Larry was a master woodworker and crafted beautiful pieces of furniture. He was especially proud of a dollhouse that was displayed during Milwaukee's Germanfest. His workshop was a refuge and he found great satisfaction in the creative process.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Lisa (Thomas) Lyle, of Stafford, VA, Jackie (Shawn) Moriarty, of Easton, MD, and Brian (Melissa) Schultz, of Des Plaines, IL; 7 grandchildren (Annsly, Jack, Aaron, Whitney, Makayla, Ryan and Alison); and his sister Laura Lewis of Charlotte, NC.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel; and a nephew, Thomas.
Services will be held at a later date.
