DELAVAN - Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Age 85, of Delavan passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. She was born in Elkhorn on May 20, 1934 to Thomas and Lidvinia (Scheidler) O’Brien .  Mary was united in marriage to Charles (“Pete”) Alexander Jackson Jr.  on June 23, 1956.  He passed away on April 30, 1989.

She attended Delavan schools and was a graduate of Delavan-Darien High School.  She received a Bachelor of Education with a major in Education and a minor in History from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. 

She was a substitute teacher in the Kenosha Unified School District, worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital and was also a mother and homemaker.   Mary is survived by her children, Jack (Ann) Jackson of Kenosha, Jay Jackson of Streamwood IL, Jill Jackson, of Delavan, and Jeri (Korry) Thorpe, of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, Heather (Andrew) Loy, Paul Jackson, Derek Granitz, Mary Simmerman, Dale Thorpe and Jennifer Thorpe.  Mary is also survived by five great grandchildren, Logan Zipp, Charlie and Callie Simmerman, and Evelyn and Audrey Loy.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles (“Pete”); and uncle and aunt Madison and Elizabeth Farrar.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 11, 2019 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church 714 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan.  Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.  Memorials can be directed to Mary’s family.  Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.  For further information please go to delavanfuneralhome.com.
