Mary Jane Morones “Janie”, age 81, of Rockton, Illinois, formerly of Delavan, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Delavan Health Services.
Mary was born on September 3, 1944, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, to Juan and Mary (Garibay) Morones. She devoted much of her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. Mary worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Willowfield in Delavan, where her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impression on those she cared for and worked alongside.
In her later years, Mary found joy in scrapbooking, preserving memories she treasured, and listening to her CDs and records, often filling her home with music that brought her comfort and happiness and a large diet coke from McDonald’s.
Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She is survived by her children, Alfonso (Anita) Arizola Jr. , Carlos (Diana) Arizola , and Christina (Luis) Muñoz, along with bonus children who held a special place in her heart, Everardo, Diana and Belinda. She was a proud grandmother to Vanessa, Luis Jr., and Joseph, as well as bonus grandchildren whom she loved dearly, as well as her sisters Lena, Mary, Millie and Pat.
She was preceded in death by her lifelong partner Alfonso Arizola Sr., her parents, Juan and Mary Morones, brothers Ray and Tony Morones and sister Susie Morones.
Services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at SSM Health in Janesville and Madison and the staff at Delavan Health Services for their compassionate care and support.
