DELAVAN – Mary Katherine (Bryant) Eckart Boak, age 101, of Delavan formerly of Waukesha passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. She was born in Mercer, PA on February 28, 1915 to Leroy and Nina (Winans) Bryant. Mary was united in marriage to Wallace W. Eckart for 29 years and after he passed away she was married to Howard Boak for 33 years. Mary was a very gifted piano player. She played for three churches, and many wedding and funerals over the years. Mary enjoyed golfing, playing cards, painting, playing guitar, and singing.
Mary is survived by her son, Wallace “Bud” (Peggy) Eckart, of Eagle, WI; step daughter, Marilyn (Don) Mueller, of IA; a sister, Donna Longly, of MN; grandchildren, Laura Lee (Eckart) Chandler, William Wallace Eckart, Janelle, Dawn, Karen, and Kurt; great granddaughter, Lillian Chandler; niece, Donna (Brad) Peters; and great niece, Darcy (Steve) Amundson and their children Carter and Cole. Mary is preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace W. Eckart and Howard Boak; her parents; her siblings; and two children, William Wallace and James Robert.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Rochester, Indiana.
