DELAVAN – Peg M. Stachowiak, age 61, of Delavan passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2015 at her home. She was born on November 16, 1953 in Milwaukee to Alfred and Bernadine (Schwabe) Stachowiak. Peg attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School and Notre Dame High School. It was at ND that she began her close friendships with Donna Arciszewski, Jane Priest, Pam Soto, and Sharon Miscikowski. These women had a deep and lasting influence on her life. Peg graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Deaf Education. She taught at the WI School for the Deaf for 35 years. Also teaching there was Pat and Steve Werner. They became instant friends and Peg became part of their family too. Peg was a member of St. Andrew’s Parish in Delavan and interpreted the Mass. For many years she coordinated the Religious Education for the Deaf with the guidance of Fr. Don Zerkel. They shared faith and a love of antiques. Peg was blessed with a large family. She was a very proud aunt and great aunt. Sisters: Mary, Bette (Dave Eaton children: Barb, Katherine, Rebecca (Chris Wiedholz), Jim) Karen (Bob Effinger, daughters: Julie (Phil Lampher, sons Alex and Jackson) Shannon (Bob Prohaska, son Caleb) Lynn (Doug Kluth, children: Cammy, Derek, Emma, William) brothers: David (Mary Riemann, children: Dan Krueger (Leandra, daughter: Aria) (Kristen, Kim, Andy), Don (Rachel Harmeyer, children: Corey, Samantha, Chelsea), Tom (Holly Champagne, children: Zachary, Nicholas) Michael (Tracey Griggs, children, Mike, Matthew). She was also blessed with a great stepmother, Lorraine Mamerow.

Please join us as we celebrate Peg’s life with a Memorial Mass on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Memorials can be directed to Archdiocesan Deaf Ministry at St. Andrew’s in Delavan.
