DELAVAN – Raymond J. Callahan, Jr., age 72, of Delavan formerly of Effingham, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home in Delavan.  He was born in Chicago on June 7, 1945 to Raymond Sr. and Claudine (Everson) Callahan.  Raymond was united in marriage to Karen “Kerry” Hutchcraft in Harvey, IL in 1965.  He worked for 37 years as a manager at Nabisco at the Chicago Bakery.  Raymond was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and was a Corvette enthusiast.      

Raymond is survived by his wife. Kerry; a son, Raymond III (Maureen) Callahan, of Williams Bay; three grandchildren, Michael, Erin, and Katie; his mother, Claudine, of Hickory Hills, IL; a sister, Lou Ann (Len) Zarembski, of Hickory Hills, IL; a special cousin, Kathy and Tom Kulig, of Orland Hills, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

Raymond is preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph; his father, Raymond Sr.; and a brother, Ronald.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Christina Catholic Church, 3342 W. 111th Street in Chicago.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.   Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street, Alsip, IL 60803 at a later date. Memorials can be directed to Lipinski-Callahan-Daly Chapter of Leukemia Research Foundation or the Effingham County Humane Society.
