DARIEN – Rita K. LaFreniere, age 71, of Darien passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington. She was born on November 9, 1954 in Chicago to Thomas and Rita (Thompson) LaFreniere. Rita worked for many years as a childcare counselor at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, flowers, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Rita is survived by her sisters, Lorraine LaFreniere, of Joliet, IL, and Sue (Scott) Seuser, of Delavan; nephews, Dan (Jamie) Seuser, Zachary (Lisa) Seuser, and Ian (Angela) Seuser; 11 great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the funeral on Monday at the church. Burial will take place at Darien Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Ridgestone Village for the great care given to Rita.
