SHARON – Robert “Bob” Dale Earnest, age 73, of Sharon passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at home. We have lost a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was born to Calvin Douglas Earnest and Lois Elaine (Nelson) Earnest. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Frank and Lydia (Bigelow) Earnest and John and Vashti (Shimmins) Nelson; in-laws, Elwin and Berthal (Holmes) Long; two brother-in-laws, Thomas and Philip Long.
Bob married Sandra (Long) Earnest on October 25, 1980. Together they had a blended family including son, Shawn R. Klug; grandson, Nick Klug; daughter, Shawn M. Connors; grandsons, Brady and Dylan Connors. Bob has 3 estranged brothers.
Bob farmed many years and worked as a maintenance mechanic for Larsen Co, Dean Foods, Stock Lumber, D & P Electronics, and USG Interiors. He worked until he was 70 years old and would still be working, but his first bout of cancer left him with one eye and unable to continue working.
He had many wonderful friends and neighbors and would lend a hand when he was needed, giving his opinion freely. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. That was Bob!
Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Ave in Delavan. Graveside Service immediately following at North Sharon Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Darien Legion.
