DELAVAN – Ronald J. Harsevoort, age 82, of Delavan passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan. He was born in Prairie View, KS on June 20, 1934 to Henry and Sophia (Hettinga) Harsevoort. Ronald was united in marriage to Judith Howard on October 1, 1955. He graduated from UW-Madison in 1961 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ron was employed by WE Energies. Over a period of about 34 years, he was an innovator in plant engineering, computerization, load forecasting, and corporate planning at WE. Ron was a member of UCC-Congregational Church in Delavan and was a member of the choir for many years. He was loving, kind, and helpful. Ron loved traveling with Judy, nature, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family.
Ron was the loving husband of Judy; a really good dad to Ellen (Steve) Young, Tom (Shauna) Harsevoort, Diane Kersjes, and Jay (Steffany) Harsevoort; a very special Bakka and Pakka to seven amazing grandchildren; and is also survived by two sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine; and a brother, Eugene.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Delavan UCC-Congregational, 123 E. Washington Street in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Delavan UCC-Congregational or the Alzheimer’s Association.
