Ruth D. Behrens, age 101 of Delavan, Wi., passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, Wi. She was born January 11, 1912 in Niles Center (Skokie), Il. The daughter of Edward and Lizzie (Isermann) Wagner. Ruth was united in marriage on October 27, 1934 to Arnold Behrens. Ruth was a resident of Des Plaines, Il., until they moved to Delavan, Wi. in 1968. On December 30, 1974, Arnold Behrens passed away. She a member of the United Church of Christ for forty-five years and was an active volunteer to RSVP for twenty-five years. Ruth is survived by her daughters Arlene Calicchio of Arlington Heights, Il., and Nancy (Richard) Powell of Gainesville, Va., her sons; Lloyd (Carol) Behrens of Delavan, Wi., Don (Margie) Behrens of Il., David (Peggy) Behrens of Delavan, Wi., and Gene (Carolyn) Behrens of Ok., eighteen grandchildren, her twenty-six great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lizzie Wagner, her husband, Arnold, her sister, Elizabeth, two brothers, Robert and Edward, her son, Roger Behrens, her grandson, Michael, and her granddaughter, Erica.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Monroe Funeral Home located at 604 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan, Wi. The visitation will continue from 9:00am until time of service Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the United Church of Christ located at 123 E. Washington St., Delavan, Wi. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the United Church of Christ in Delavan, Wi., with Rev. Laura McLeod officiating. Interment will follow funeral services on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, Il. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ in Delavan, Wi.
