Ruth M. Palmer, age 92 of Sharon, Wi., passed away Wednesday March 6, 2013 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Walworth Wi. She was born April 28, 1920 in Hebron, Il., the daughter of Francis and Mary (Peterson) Maas. Ruth was united in marriage to Lyle Palmer in April 0f 1941 in Richmond, Il. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2007. Along with her husband, they owned and operated the family farm in Sharon Township raising beef cattle. She was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Fontana, Wi. She was also a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church Alter Society. She is survived by her daughter, Dona (Tom Spellman) Palmer of Lake Geneva, Wi. Her sons; Gary Palmer of Oregon, Wi. and Jeff (Anne) Palmer of Scituate, Ma. 11 grand/step grandchildren and 13 great-grand/step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle, 2 brothers, Francis and George. 1 sister, Marquerite.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00am Saturday March 16, 2013 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Fontana, Wi. with Fr. Donald Zerkel officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday March 15, 2013 at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, Wi. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery in Delavan, Wi. Memorials may be directed to the Delavan Food Pantry or Heifer International. MONROE FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, Wi. is assisting the family.
