DELAVAN – Sarah J. Greene, aged 55, of Delavan, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, after battling pancreatic cancer for over five years. She had an unstoppable will to live and used every moment she had to make the world a better place.
She was born on April 1, 1969, and grew up in Hartland, Wisconsin graduating from Arrowhead High School in 1987, and from the University of Whitewater in 1991. Sarah worked for 28 years as a social worker, supporting countless Walworth County families to live a more enriching life. Her positive attitude, loving nature, and spirit of generosity blessed her with friends beyond number. Sarah's family deeply appreciates the unwavering support provided by her friends and the community during the inevitable daily challenges associated with her illness, especially Anne and Jeff Johnson, the girls from the “hood”, and her coworkers who kept her refrigerator and her social calendar filled.
Sarah is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and many beloved four-legged friends. She is survived by her children Allyson (26), Jacob (23), and Natalie (21) and their father Jac Greene; her father, Roger LeRoy, and his wife Donna; her mother, Carole LeRoy, and her husband Gordon; her sisters Krista Bleich and Tricia Petersen (Dean), and ten nieces and nephews.
Sarah’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the service following.
