Hanchette in Brownville, NY in 1951.  She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan, WI.

Shirley is survived by her husband William, her children Mike Hanchette, Steve (Carol) Hanchette, Kathy Cascanet, Mary (Jim) Brellenthin, Paul Hanchette, Peggy (David) Byrd, Janet (Dennis) Trombley, Billy (Kathy) Hanchette, Tom (Bridget) Hanchette, and Lisa (Mark) Hanchette, twenty-three grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren on the way, and a sister Margaret Thomas of Hilton, New York.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Eileen Johnson.

After marriage, Shirley, Bill and the growing family resided in a number of areas including Connecticut, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Since moving to Delavan in the early 1970’s and before retiring in 2000, Shirley alternately worked in and managed the deli business of local area grocery stores including Schmalings, Sentry Foods, and Piggly Wiggly where she worked to ensure high levels of service.

Shirley dedicated her life to raising and supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She worked full time while still managing to run a household complete with home cooked meals, attending school events, and a variety of other activities that her kids/grandkids were involved in.  Shirley was a true Christian who quietly gave of herself and faithfully served others her entire life.
