Susan Marie Skilling, 52, of Delavan, passed away on Nov. 16, 2019, in Summit, WI.

Sue was born to Theresa Collins and the late DuWayne Koch on May 18, 1967, in Harvard, IL.

She spent much of her life as a hair stylist – for many years at Visual Changes in Delavan, and then at various other salons. She had an empathetic and kind personality that made her the type of hair stylist who easily made clients into friends.

She also had a wonderful sense of humor – one of her favorite salon signs said "I’m a beautician, not a magician."

Sue knew many struggles throughout her life, but no matter what, she always kept going. Under her mild-mannered personality was the heart of a fighter. One of her biggest battles was addiction, and she was proud to have been a recovering alcoholic for three years. "One Day at a Time" was a motto that helped her along the way, and a piece of advice she repeated to others when they were overwhelmed.

Always an artist, she had recently begun painting again and produced beautiful works of art that she hung throughout her home.

Sue was a loyal friend and family member who loved with an open heart and always saw the best in others. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Bears fan, and loved listening to classic rock.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Skilling; her children, Amanda Munger, Joseph Skilling, Dustin (Kimberly) Skilling, and Tristan (Aryn) Skilling; her mother, Theresa (Les) Collins; her brothers, Paul Jones, Anthony Jones, and Scott Collins; her sisters Debra Collins and Lesley Strohman; her grandchildren Noah, Issy, Owen, and Grayson; her beloved dog, Chase; and many other family members and friends.

A Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church, W775 Geranium Rd in Genoa City, with a memorial service at 11 a.m., and a fellowship lunch to follow.

The family would like to thank Aurora Medical Center of Summit for their incredibly compassionate care during this difficult time.
