DELAVAN – Sylvia Freitag, age 73, of Delavan passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan. She was born on July 6, 1953 in Elkhorn to Clifford and Lorraine (Shoenbeck) Harden. Sylvia Graduated Lakeland High School and medaled in State and National Special Olympics. Sylvia was united in marriage to Henry J. Freitag III on January 20, 1979 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva. Henry passed away on May 3, 2025.
Sylvia enjoyed playing cards, painting, reading and being in the front row when Elvis (impersonator) made an appearance at VOTP. Long time friends talked of her kindness, humor and caring nature for others.
To know Sylvia was to truly understand unconditional love. She never complained, never asked what the world could offer but gave everything so that her children could thrive, heal and live safely. Sylvia truly loved beyond measure, embodied selflessness and demonstrated trust and great courage that some will never truly understand.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Marsha; her son Jerry “Jeff” (Natalie) Grandchildren; Sabrina (David), Andrea (Lane), Bailey (Kristen), Paige, Landon, Tristan and Julianna. Her Great-Grandchildren; Gage, Adalyn and Tatum. Special mention to her close friend and support Carol.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents, Clifford and Lorraine; Her son Ron “Charles;” Her sister, Charlotte.
