Thomas Campbell

Thomas Campbell, age 74, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Las Vegas.  Born in Delavan on May 16, 1948 to Merlyn and Florence June (McCabe) Campbell, he grew up mostly in North Prairie.   As a member of the Mukwonago High School class of 1966, he ran on the 1964 and 1966 state champion cross-country teams.  At the Milwaukee School of Engineering, he earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering.  He worked as an appraiser with American Appraisal in Milwaukee and New Jersey, then as an independent appraiser based in LaSalle, Illinois and Las Vegas.  While traveling the country to visit family or to appraise casinos, he enjoyed finding Packers bars and attracting attention from rival fans by unabashedly wearing Packers fan gear in hostile territory.  In his later years, he lost vision and became dependent on dialysis for kidney failure caused by a rare autoimmune disease.  Nevertheless, he kept traveling for graduations, weddings, baptisms, and family vacations, where his conversation and encouragement will be missed.

Thomas is survived by his children, Christopher (Catherine) of Columbia, Maryland; Nicholas (Rebecca) of New Albany, Indiana; and Rebecca (Christopher) Skorek of Kildeer, Illinois as well as seven grandchildren (Olivia, Colin, Brian, Sophia, Samuel, Chance, and Sloane).  He is survived by four brothers (David, Gregory, Michael, and James), a sister-in-law (Therese), a niece (Alyssa), and four nephews (Kevin, Steven, Peter, and Matthew).

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and a brother (Rodney).

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from NOON until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Andrews Cemetery in Delavan.
