Thomas Jerome Manetsch, age 78 of Delavan, Wi., went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 1, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville Wi.. He was born on January 21, 1932 in Spokane Washington, the son of Louis and Marie Aamodt Manetsch. Tom served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Tom was a professor of Systems Science and Electrical Engineering at Michigan State University in East Lansing Michigan for 28 years. While there, he was involved in interdisciplinary research projects in such countries as South Korea, Nigeria and Brazil. His greatest passion was to serve the Lord in Reformed church congregations in Michigan and in Wisconsin and through his involvement with christian renewal ministries.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna of Delavan; 2 daughters Jennifer (Robby) Aikin of Plaistow New Hampshire and Janet (Jim) Versweyveld of Delavan; 1 son Scott (Cathy) of Libertyville, Il.. 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Jillian and Luke Versweyveld and Hannah and Melissa Manetsch; 1 brother, Michael Manetsch of Ca.. Also surviving are 2 nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 nephew Eric.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Tuesday January 4, 2011 at the Creek Road Community Church in Delavan, Wi., with Rev. Mike Ploeger officating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan, Wi..
