DELAVAN – Rodney C. August, age 80, of Delavan passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born on October 27, 1936 in Delavan to Earl and Mary (Radtke) August. Rodney was united in marriage to Elaine Schwardt on June 9, 1956 in Delavan. He worked for 28 years at Borg in Delavan and then worked for the Delavan-Darien School District before retiring at Wileman Elementary.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine; a daughter, Cheryl (Ken) Eimers, of Lake Mills, WI; a son, Jeffrey (Linda) August, of Elkhorn; three granddaughters, Julie Eimers and Lisa (Kevin Voss) Eimers, and Laura August; a great grandson, Alex; a brother, Donald August, of Delavan; and many nieces and nephews.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet; a brother-in-law, Jim; and a nephew, Daniel.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 212 S. Main Street in Delavan with Rev. Betsy Perkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials can be directed to First Baptist Church in Delavan.
