Bruce J. Webb

WALWORTH - Bruce James Webb, age 84, of Walworth passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 surrounded by his family at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Elgin, IL on October 6, 1941 to Harry and Ruth (LeLievre) Webb. Bruce was united in marriage to Sandra Hameister. He grew up in Elgin and lived most of his life there until moving to Walworth in October of 1996. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1959. He grew up with two brothers, Wayne and Craig, exploring the outdoors every chance they could and always looking for an adventure.

As a young man he loved to hunt and fish, but especially fish. Bruce was the kind of fisherman that did not care what he caught at the end of his line. It could have been a small bluegill or a once in a lifetime 15 3/4 pound, 34 inch walleye that he caught on Lake Geneva on June 1st, 1979. What he enjoyed the most about fishing was spending time with the friends and family alongside him.

The man knew the woods. Not from being a book scholar, but from walking many trails. In 1989 Bruce solely built a one room log cabin in Richland County, WI on 33 acres of solid woods. His family and friends enjoyed spending time there for many years.

Bruce grew up watching his father build homes in Elgin. He started his own construction/drywall business at a young age and became a very successful businessman, both in Elgin and the surrounding vicinities, as well as in the Walworth area. Bruce not only enjoyed his work but created many lasting friendships along the way. He was an extraordinary man in the fact that he could build anything with rock and stone, carve and draw. His hands were like artwork.

Bruce's favorite thing to do was spend time with his loving son and best friend, Nathan, teaching him an endless amount of invaluable lessons and being the definition of a loving father. He is most well-known for his bellowing laugh that would echo through rooms, his sense of humor, and his courtesy and sociability toward anyone fortunate enough to meet him.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Sandra, who have been together for the past 50 years. He is survived by his son, Nathan Scott James Webb from Burlington. He is also survived by a daughter, Cindy Webb from New Mexico and a son, Bret Webb. Bruce has four grandchildren; Nicholas, Violet, Taylor and Sahra, and four great grandchildren. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Webb.

Services are tentatively planned for the end of August. Bruce's family will inform family and friends at a later time.
