DELAVAN – Cecilia Heidt, age 98, of Delavan passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was born in Dickinson, ND on April 22, 1925 to John and Katherine (Paul) Huschka. Cecilia was united in marriage to Vincent Heidt on October 15, 1946, in South Heart, ND. After moving to Delavan in 1966, she worked for many years in the deli at Sentry in Lake Geneva until she retired. Cecilia enjoyed getting together with her relatives, gardening, embroidering, crocheting, baking, and making homemade noodles. She was a longtime member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan, where she was involved with their sewing group for several years, making quilts.
Survivors include one sister, Mary (Joe) Jedlicka from Delavan; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Huschka, Delavan, WI, and Dorothy Huck of Moorehead, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent; three sisters and four brothers; and several brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law.
A funeral mass will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan. Visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Andrews Cemetery immediately following.
The family wants to give a very special thank you to the caregivers at Rosewood Manor of Delavan and Gentiva Hospice who cared for Cecile in her last few months.
