DELAVAN - Claudette “Claudie” J. Uher, 78, passed away on Sunday February 25, 2018. She was born November 27, 1939 in Oak Park, IL to Charles and Dorothy Uher. She grew up in the Chicago area before moving to Delavan with her family in 1953. Claudie graduated from Delavan High School in 1957 and then went on to graduate from Beauty Culture and Cosmetology School in Milwaukee in 1958. Claudie moved to Burbank, CA with her mother and became a beautician for “the stars.”
Claudie and her mother moved back to Delavan in 1976 to be closer to their family. She worked at Borg Instruments in Delavan until her retirement. Claudie loved to fish and camp wherever she lived. Due to her cosmetology training, Claudie became the family “barber”, cutting anyone and everyone’s hair wherever she happened to be. She always had her hair cutting tools with her. Claudie loved family gatherings and frequently hosted chicken barbecues at her home. Claudie had a love for fast cars and was frequently encouraged to race her favorite Road Runner. Claudie also loved her frequent gambling junkets with her sister.
Claudie is survived by her loving sister Dorothy (Verlyn) Fladten, step-brother Richard Conrad, Green Bay, WI and nieces, nephews, great nephews and great-great nieces. Her parents and her three pets that she considered her children, Toby, Mindy and Muffy preceded her in death.
