Craig S. Amici, age 56 of Whitewater, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at UW Hospital in Madison after a courageous 15 year battle with cancer. He was born on May 16, 1954, the son of Emil and Virginia (Koslowski) Amici. After growing up in Chicago, Craig attended UW-Platteville where he met his future wife, Debra 'Deb' Gile. They were married on April 12, 1980 in Shullsburg, WI. Craig worked as a general sales manager in the dairy industry for 35 years, and was respected and well-liked by everyone who met him. He sat on the Dairy Expo Board in Madison, and also traveled for his career throughout the world. Craig loved woodworking and fishing, especially his annual fishing trip with his fraternity brothers. He also enjoyed playing hockey and softball, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. As a loving husband and father, he loved watching his girls compete in sports and was proud of all their accomplishments. Craig was funny, sarcastic, and opinionated, and will always be remembered for his smile and ability to never allow cancer to slow him down.
Craig is survived by his wife, Deb Amici of Whitewater; two daughters: Emily Amici, of St. Paul, MN, and Liz Amici, attending UW-EauClaire; brothers: Allan and Dean Amici; sister-in-law, Susan Amici; nephew, Austin Amici; niece, Amber Amici; and the many good friends who have been supportive throughout Craig's illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Amici.
