David Z. Moronez passed away on the morning of November 12th at the age of 68 from complications due to COVID-19. Born July 14, 1953 to Fernando and Lydia (Zarate) Moronez, Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee in Mobile Construction Battalion 10 on Diego Garcia before returning home to Wisconsin. If you’d asked him, though, he would say his greatest accomplishments of all were his three children, Mariquita (Heather), Pam, and David, whom he loved dearly. Dave was always writing music and poetry, and published two books, Inner Feelings and Reflections. He used his talents to praise God and gladly shared his words and song with those around him. Dave was a master of the dad joke, a constant collector of pens and reading glasses, an incredible giver of hugs, and the strongest man we knew. His kind and generous spirit was boundless and will be missed every day.
He is survived by his mother, Lydia; his wife, Nancy; his three children, Mariquita, Pam, and David (Jessica); the mother of his children, Gayle; two granddaughters, Lydia and Adela; four sisters Emilia (Douglas), Maria (Jesus), Donna, and Skarly; and three brothers, Jerry, Eddy, and Andy.
Dave is preceded in death by his father, Fernando, and his brother, Carlos.
A celebration of life will take place starting at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th at the American Legion, 111 S. 2nd Street, Delavan, WI 53115.
