DELAVAN – Delores M. Murphy, age 80, of Delavan passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born in Vermont Township, WI on September 1, 1934 to Roy and Lorene (Ebenhoe) Bohn. Delores grew up on a farm in Vermont Township and graduated from Mt. Horeb High School and UW-Platteville. She started her career in teaching at Trevor School in Lake Geneva. Delores married Leonard Murphy on August 1, 1956 at St. James Catholic Church in Blue Mounds, WI. She worked at many local Delavan businesses throughout the years and retired from the Walworth County Week in 2004. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Delavan. Delores enjoyed traveling, clerking auctions, collecting antiques, golfing, and spending quality time with her family.

Delores is survived by her four children, Michael Murphy, of Delavan, Mark Murphy, of Racine, Brian Murphy, of Delavan, and Brenda (Melvin Maicke) Murphy, of Madison; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Anita) Bohn, of Blanchardville, WI; a sister, Patricia (Schuyler) Hyde, of Ocala, FL; a sister-in-law, Carol Bohn, of Mt. Horeb; and a special friend, Emory Thompson, of Janesville. Delores is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Mary Lou.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 115 S. 7th Street with Fr. Angel Anaya officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at St. James Cemetery in Vermont Township at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday.
