Doris L. Pyrz, age 80 of Delavan, died peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at her home. She was born on June 14, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, IN, the daughter of Freeman and Oma (Carvin) Jenkins. She graduated from Dale High School in Indiana, and later married Eugene Pyrz on Oct. 28, 1950 in La Salle, IL. Besides being a loving homemaker, she was a receptionist for Dr. Stoick's Dental Office for 10 years. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Delavan.
Doris is survived by her husband, Gene of Delavan; 2 daughters: Cynthia (Bill) Schenk of Elkhorn and Debra (Richard) Bernstorff of Minong, WI; son-in-law, Donald Boss of Delavan; grandchildren: Shannon (Mike) Lindberg, Bridget (Jeremy) DeVries, Dr. Kenneth Schenk, and Dr. Bradley Schenk; great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Paul Jenkins of MI. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lynn, 1 brother, and her parents.
A funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Delavan, with Fr. Jim Schuerman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at church. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Delavan. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
