Steve J. Accola, age 59 of Delavan, Wi, passed away Saturday May 14, 2011 at Meriter Hospital in Madison Wi.He was born October 20, 1951 in Madison, the son of Elvin and Catherine (Gray) Accola. Steve married Julie Blake in Belvidere Il., on May 24, 1980. He was a Retail Manager for the K-Mart Corporation in Delavan for many years, then for Harris Ace Hardware in Janesville Wi. Steve was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan. He was an avid Packer and Brewers fan and had a passion for history, reading as many books as possible.
He is survived by his wife Julie of Delavan; his daughter, Elizabeth of Delavan and his son, Stuart of Oshkosh Wi. A sister, Linda (Mark) Mack of Appleton Wi. and a brother, Don (LaVon) Accola of Verona Wi. His mother, Kay Accola of Prairie Du Sac Wi. Also surviving are nieces and a nephew. He is preceded in death by his father Elvin.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan with Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Tuesday at the Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan, Wi. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Accola family.
